COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Course offers a systematic exposition of the theory and analysis of tonal and post-tonal music. Students develop analytical and compositional skills through exercises in guided writing and the study of pieces from the literature. Level I-III focus on tonal practice. Level IV presents a spectrum of 20th century post-tonal techniques. Course activities are correlated with the materials for the corresponding level of Aural Comprehension.

The Accademia Europea di Firenze is an International School of Italian Arts and Culture.
