Ballet
Description | This course provides intensive instruction in ballet and through technique classes at an intermediate/advanced level. The class is designed to provide a strong technically based experience with an emphasis on style, musicality and performance quality, while specifically addressing elements of the general theory of ballet. |
Learning outcomes | At the end of the semester, students will have acquired experience to move on to the next level of prowess and difficulty. Many aspects of the dancers’ body will have improved including strength, flexibility, stamina, placement, alignment, elevation, and ballòn. The dancer will also have increased performance level, artistry, musicality, qualitative aspects of movement and dynamics, spatial clarity, projection, performances and expressiveness. More specifically, the advanced student will be able to promptly grasp class exercises and combinations, demonstrate dynamic alignment, experience a better sense of the body in relation to space, and perform with confidence and full engagement. |
