Music Theory


Description

This course provides students with a foundational understanding of music theory and harmony, tracing the evolution of Western music from the Renaissance to contemporary genres. Emphasis is placed on developing rhythmic and notational literacy, analytical listening, and stylistic awareness. Guest composers and musicians from diverse backgrounds, including classical, jazz, pop, and film music, will contribute to select sessions and enrich students’ perspectives. Students will also be encouraged to attend concerts, lectures, and discussions to engage with professionals in the field.
