Opera Repertoire
Description | Students/singers will study Italian operatic repertoire from Baroque music to the works of Mozart and Rossini, through the “bel canto” of Bellini and Donizetti, to the works of Verdi and Puccini among others. The collaborative work of the piano accompanist will emphasize special attention to phrasing, dynamics, color, rhythm, intonation, proper Italian diction, and the specific performance practices of the single character. |
Learning outcomes | The students will be able to develop vocal, linguistic and dramatic skills and build the repertoire knowledge necessary for opera singers. To reinforce the vocal technique already possessed by the student to provide the foundation for further development. |
