SKILL 3490: Ethics - Skills for the 21st Century

COURSE DESCRIPTION

What is our responsibility in climate change? How technology impacts our own life and what remains of free will and freedom? This class promotes reflections on the practical implications of our behavior through the gaze of ethics. Ethics is the critical thinking on the basis of which we decide how to act in a given situation. Key topics include the role of reason and emotion, gender, local vs. universal ethics, ethics and human rights, individual vs. community well-being, fundamental rights and duties, virtue and character, and the limits of rationality. .
