History and Culture of Fashion Photography

Description

The course aims to provide general knowledge and interpretative skills in fashion photography through the study of its history and the characteristics of the photographic medium, from its origins to contemporary visual culture. Emphasis will be given to an analytical methodology that considers the medium from sociological, aesthetic, and semiotic perspectives.

Learning outcomes

Ability to contextualize fashion photography from a historical and cultural perspective. Ability to conduct an original analysis of an author or period. Ability to use images as a communication tool for fashion.
