The Science of Human Fluorishing

Description

This course focuses on individual skills for success in social and personal life. It provides an introduction to the science of happiness, integrating findings from positive psychology, behavioural genetics, neuroscience behavioural economics. The course provides a set of tools and techniques for turning problems into learning opportunities, and for developing and applying strategies and skills that promote overall progress in a person psychological, physical and social well-being.

Learning outcomes

The course is designed to give students tools to give impulse to their personal growth and flourishing in being able to:
• Identify key psychological, social, and biological factors for flourishing;
• Analyse the connection between flourishing and the quality of social connections;
• Identify the impact of constructive or destructive thoughts, emotions and behaviours on own’s wellbeing;
• Identify the tools to transform destructive emotions and behavioural patterns;
• Apply the tools to increase focused attention.
