Intensive Italian

If your love for the Italian language is larger than life, one single course may not be enough! That’s why AEF also offers Italiano intensivo to students who would like to combine the course Italiano insieme with a number of one-on-one lessons.

In the morning, you will attend the Italiano insieme small-group class of the most suitable level for you. Classes are divided into two parts, with two different instructors. The first part is dedicated to how the language and its structures work; the second one will be focusing on conversation and communication, in mixed groups of students from different levels.

Italian courses are availables for a minimum of 2 weeks, but the course typically is a 4-week long. This structure allows the achievement of a level according to the Common European Framework (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) and provides a total of 80 lessons, divided into 40 conversation lessons and 40 grammar lessons. In case that the group is composed of less than 3 students, the conversation lessons remain unchanged but there are 24 grammar lessons that also guarantee the achievement of the expected level.

In the afternoon you will take individual, custom-made lessons on the grammar or communicative topics that you wish to study in more detail.

In addition to all this, you will have the chance to join the cultural activities that AEF offers every week to all students—a fun way to get to know the Italian culture, the city of Florence, and the AEF community better.
Upon your arrival at Palazzo Niccolini, your experience will start with a tour of the school premises, and to meet the staff. The next activity will be a walking tour to discover Florence, and then in the following weeks, a pizza night at a local pizzeria, lessons about art and Florentine museums, a masterclass on opera, an Italian wine tasting, a night at the Opera or at a local theater, as well as Italian language activities. Every month, our courses will end with a concert by our Music and Opera students and instructors.
