Italian Plus Music

You love music and opera more than anything and you want to combine your passion with studying Italian language? At AEF you can do it!

You can choose a group Italian course plus 4 or 6 classes per week in your favorite music discipline.

This combination is perfect for you also if you wish to apply to a music conservatory or school in the future.

Italian classes are divided into two parts. The first one is dedicated to study how the language and its structures work; the second one focuses on conversation, and you will also improve your pronunciation and communication in Italian: two essential skills for future opera singers!

Italian courses are availables for a minimum of 2 weeks, but the course typically is a 4-week long. This structure allows the achievement of a level according to the Common European Framework (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) and provides a total of 80 lessons, divided into 40 conversation lessons and 40 grammar lessons. In case that the group is composed of less than 3 students, the conversation lessons remain unchanged but there are 24 grammar lessons that also guarantee the achievement of the expected level.

In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself even more into the life of the school and the city of Florence, joining our weekly cultural activities.

The AEF staff will welcome you to Palazzo Niccolini to show you the school premises and then guide your through the streets and piazzas of Florence to discover the city.

In the following weeks, you can join us for a pizza night at a local pizzeria, lessons on art and Florentine museums, a masterclass about opera, an Italian wine tasting, a night at the Opera Theater or another venue in Florence, as well as Italian language activities.

Every month, our courses will end with a final concert by the Music and Opera students and instructors.
