Modern Italian Literature
The Modern Italian Literature Course introduces students to twentieth-century Italian literature through the theory of the avant-gardes. The Futurists, Hermeticism, Expressionism, Neo-realism, the new Avant-garde and post-modernism will all be taken into consideration with a final examination of the New Avant-garde and the ’63 Group. Within an educational tour of the European 1900s, the literary texts will be analyzed as the end product of the cultural factors of that period, and as the place in which said factors converge.
