Modern Italian Literature

The course introduces students to twentieth-century Italian literature through the theory of the avant-garde.
The main topics of the course are the Futurists, Hermeticism, Expressionism, Neorealism, the New Avant-garde and Postmodernism, to conclude with the Neo Avant-garde and the '63 Group. Within a didactic itinerary on the European 20th century, literary texts will be analyzed as a product of the factors of the culture of the period, as the place where these factors converge.
